Division 8 Hollow Metal Door Project Manager
Summary : The Project Managers role in this Company is to develop and maintain relationships with current and future customers. The Manager is also directly responsible for the procurement of contracts as well as the management of those projects. Ultimate responsibility for the estimate, the management and the profitability of his/her projects lie on their shoulders. This includes but not limited to billings, buy out, budgets, problem solving, estimating as well as a variety of other responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare submittals from contract documents;
- Price, process and manage change orders;
- Project manage including cost control, change orders ,billings and performance (both financial and production);
- Responsible for the overall profitability of their project
- Estimating (knowledge of how to estimate and is able to interpret estimates); preparing/presenting the proposal to the G.C. or owner;
- Ability to read and decipher accounting reports;
- Possess good math skills;
- Good communicator and able to get new customers;
- Possess good sales ability.
- Responsible for business development as well as maintaining existing customer base.
- Estimating , Negotiating and adjusting the cost to help insure the awarding of the job;
- Project managing and coordinating the job with other divisions;
- Job site meetings, scheduling installation assisting others with their work when needed;
- Preparing submittals, ordering material and coordinating installation and all other aspects to help insure the division and company'ssuccess;
- Scheduling the job estimates.
Manages 1 to 2 subordinate supervisors who supervise a various number of field employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or college preferred, field experience is helpful.
Language Skills :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
